NBVA #3 Tournament – 8 to 9 January 2022

For NBVA #3 NBVA will continue to follow the new Tournament format as a trial to enhance the experience for our members and provide the opportunity for teams to progress further within a single tournament.

Seeding List

NBVA #3 New Tournament Structure

NBVA #3 will consist of one 24 Team draw per gender per day, made up of three 8 team brackets (Octets).

  • Saturday: Division 1 – incorporating Octet-1, Octet-2, Octet-3 (24 teams)
  • Sunday: Division 2 – incorporating Octet-1, Octet-2, Octet-3 (24 teams)
  • The first round of matches will be the same as under the previous tournament structure
  • An extra round has been added in round 2 of the tournament which is a crossover between the Octets. In the crossover round the winners in Octets 2 and 3 will play against the losers in Octets 1 and 2 for the right to move up a division with the winners playing round 3 of the tournament in the higher bracket and the losers playing round 3 in the lower bracket
  • Teams therefore have the opportunity to win the crossover match and move up into the next Octet so if a team is better than their seeding they have the opportunity to prove it
  • Minimum of three matches for all teams
  • Prizes for the winners of each of the Octets

Teams that are put on the wait list will be scheduled in Division 3 (previously known as the Qualification Tournament) on Saturday 11 December 2021.

WINNERS FROM NBVA #2

As per the communication at the beginning of the season regarding promotions, the top two finishing teams from each Octet will be guaranteed seeding positions in the Octet above for the next tournament apart from Octet 2 in division 1 from which one team has guaranteed seeding in Octet 1.

As a part of NBVA’s partnership with Major Sponsors all teams on Saturday (Division 1) are required to continue to wear NBVA Uniforms for all matches.

REGISTRATION & EVENT PAYMENT

NBVA Event Registration will remain the same at: https://nbva.org.au/event-registration/

All other teams will be placed on the wait list if there is an over subscription of teams and placed in the Qualification Tournament run on the following Saturday,

Please make sure to use your proper name and each partners individual email when completing the Event Registration and Event Payment online.

This is required so we can see the registered players/teams who have paid by the deadline – Monday 12pm prior to the tournament.

When you complete your teams Event Registration and view the Registered Teams list this is an indicative seeding list and does not guarantee you into the tournament.

The final seeding will be published by Friday, 3 December 2021 to show you which division and day you will be playing on. Teams will also be notified if they are scheduled in the Qualification B Tournament scheduled on Saturday, 15 January 2022.

To ensure your previous results are used for seeding please make sure that the name you use when registering matches what has been used in the past. If you’re unsure what name you should be using you can check previous results in the Player Ranking section under Competitions.

The Player Ranking/Seeding information is available at:
https://nbva.org.au/player-ranking/

Both players are required to pay your (team) entry fee by the deadline otherwise you will be put on a waiting list. Please note: early registration and payment does not guarantee you into the tournament and will be based on seeding.

If teams are tied on the same seeding points, preference and the higher seeding will be based on current season NBVA Tournament Results, ABVRS Seeding, and to which team who has registered first (must have also completed payment prior to entry deadline at 12noon Wednesday).
